It is still hard to think of technology moving on without Steve Jobs. He was always quick to spot what would work well for Apple, even when others thought he was crazy. And not just new tech to add to Apple products.
Way back in the late 80s, Apple designed robots to make their manufacturing easier and cheaper. They did it even though they had to redesign products that were selling like hotcakes---just so the bots could manufacture them.
Apple was an early adopter of just-in-time
