Relieving Pain to Improve Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is often used to reduce or manage pain. And it can work well for that purpose.

However, I seldom hear people mention that it works the other way, too. That is, since hypnosis is a form of focused concentration, relieving chronic pain can make it easier for hypnosis to work, since the subject finds it easier to concentrate without the distraction of pain.
